Hi! We're the mother and daughter behind the Gathered. Here, we weave moments of connection and renewal, breathing life into gatherings that uplift spirits and create lasting memories
Under the golden embrace of the sun, amidst a landscape painted with the vibrant hues of sunflowers, a love story unfolds. Welcome to the sun-kissed nuptials of Alix and Ryan, where every detail speaks of personal touches like DIY florals, heartfelt family love, and unforgettable moments.
In a world where love reigns supreme, this couple embarked on a journey to craft their dream wedding, one filled with DIY florals that bloomed with their love story. From delicate arrangements adorning every table to the vibrant bouquets carried down the aisle, each arrangement whispers of their devotion and dedication to creating a celebration as unique as their bond.
But what truly sets this wedding apart is the inclusion of their precious son. For Alix and Ryan, this day wasn’t just about joining together as partners; it was about solidifying their bond as a family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
As the evening unfolds, guests are treated not only to great food but also to the warmth of good company. From heartfelt toasts to shared moments on the dance floor, every interaction is infused with the spirit of celebration and camaraderie.
And let’s not forget the magic of the golden hour, where sunflower-adorned fields become the backdrop for stunning photos that capture the essence of this special day. Against this backdrop of golden hues, Alix and Ryan bask in the glow of newfound marital bliss, surrounded by the love and support of their nearest and dearest.
Join us as we dive into the heart of this unforgettable wedding, where DIY florals, family love, and the promise of a lifetime together come together to create a sun-kissed celebration that will be remembered for years to come.
Try to not check the weather! If you decide to have an outdoor wedding, the weather is
the one thing you can’t control. It was hard not to check the forecast especially the week before.
But, whether it’s a grey and rainy day, or sunny and warm, it will be what you make it and it will be a
beautiful day.
Great food, good company and just a fun party.
Just my flowers. We did DIY floral table arrangements and bouquets ourselves the night before.
Keep it simple. At the end of the day, your guests won’t remember the decor or the variety of drinks
behind the bar. They’ll remember their time celebrating you.
Also, do what you want. There will always be someone who gets mad or annoyed with one of your
decisions. At the end of the day, do what you want for your day.
Excel spreadsheets, to-do lists and delegating tasks. I wasn’t scared to ask for help, and I also had a
fantastic group of friends and family who were ready to run errands and help when needed. Making
lists and spreadsheets of literally everything also helped me keep track of everything.
No! I just loved what the Gathered had to offer and loved that it was a small, family-run business.
Having our son at our wedding! It was so fun that he got to be a part of our day.
The food!!! Everyone talks about how fabulous the food was. Also the setting and florals. We did
Costco florals and had a bouquet-making party the night before the wedding. It was so fun and we
saved a ton of money. And it turned out gorgeous.
I shared a bunch of my decor! A cousin of mine got married in September after us. We split bases
and garlands for the tables. I rented a few items and did the flowers ourselves. My mom
took the flower arrangements and bouquets to Olds with her after the wedding and delivered them
to some neighbours and people in the senior care center.
The day goes by in a blink. Just so fast. People will tell you this but you don’t know until you actually
experience it.
Just having all of our friends and family in one place to celebrate. After Covid, I value time with loved
ones even more. And it was so good to have all of our people in one place at one time.
