Hi! We're the mother and daughter behind the Gathered. Here, we weave moments of connection and renewal, breathing life into gatherings that uplift spirits and create lasting memories
We are delighted to introduce this lovely couple Andrea and Matt, a 2023 highlight for us, who celebrated their wedding at The Gathered in August. Their special day was a beautiful tapestry of unforgettable moments and heartfelt emotions. From the quiet, intimate toast they shared just after their ceremony to the breathtaking scene at the beginning of their reception, every detail was thoughtfully crafted to create an extraordinary celebration. We absolutely adore them and can’t wait for you to read about the wedding day!
I think the best way to describe our theme for our wedding is French countryside Provencal-style –
long harvest tables under the twinkling lights, filled with all our family and friends, love, good food,
good wine, and good conversation.
Choosing The Gathered as our wedding venue was the easiest decision we made for our wedding! I
think we were their first couple to book for their 2023 wedding season. The property is stunning
and the food is beyond delicious — our guests still talk about the food and tent when we see them.
Alysa and Elaine were a dream to work with throughout our entire planning process. This mother
daughter team are like a warm hug, and made us feel like family. Their expertise, passion,
thoughtfulness, and organization are invaluable resources. We loved everything about having our
wedding there, and if we could think of another reason to have an event there we would! You feel
at home when you’re at The Gathered. Thank you for being such a HUGE part of our day, we will
treasure our memories always.
The experience we wanted for our guests really related to our theme – we really wanted our guests
to experience a beautiful night filled with love, good food, good wine and good conversation.
My something borrowed was my grandma’s family ring. My mom surprised me with this the morning
of the wedding — it’s a good thing that my make-up wasn’t done yet because the tears flowed as
soon as she gave it to me. My grandma was a very special lady and I loved having a little piece of
her with me that day.
You always hear how fast the day goes, and it does!
The food! And the venue! Everyone loved the food, which was really important to us. We can’t wait
to come back for one of The Gathered’s small events just to have the food again. And the venue,
we got so many compliments on the venue — they loved the different seating areas, the tent, the fire
pits, everything!
Our custom “Scotch & Wine” neon sign now hangs on the wall over our bar at home 🙂 And our bar
and signature drink menus are also displayed on our bar.
Matt would say these two words “Sounds great!” anytime I asked him anything wedding related lol.
However, it would be to decide the things that are important to you (both individually and as a
couple) and make sure those are incorporated in your day. Remember to keep dating each
other during the planning process, your life together is more than just wedding planning.
There are so many favourite moments of the day! But the first one was when we snuck off just after
the end of our ceremony for a quiet moment for just the two of us. We did a toast to us and just
spent a few minutes acknowledging what we just did — WE GOT MARRIED!! A second favourite
moment was at the beginning of the reception just before our entrance — we were sitting on the
deck just outside the kitchen just taking it all in, seeing all our family and friends together here for
us, the gorgeous setting we were in, the amazing smells coming from the kitchen. It was a moment
of awe, and also how lucky are we to be here.
